Made-to-measure or bespoke doors take longer — typically 3–6 weeks depending on the manufacturer and specification. We'll give you a clear timeline once you've chosen your door.
Is the survey really free? What does it involve?
Yes, completely free with no obligation. Our engineer will visit, take accurate measurements of your opening, assess the structure and any existing mechanism, and discuss your requirements and preferences. You'll get a clear quote and recommendation before you commit to anything.
What happens if my door has completely failed — can you make it secure first?
Absolutely. If your door has failed and left your garage unsecured, call us and we'll prioritise getting an engineer out to make it safe. We'll carry out an emergency secure-and-make-safe before conducting the replacement survey, so your property isn't left vulnerable.
Can I change to a different type of door — or do I have to replace like for like?
In most cases you can switch to a completely different door type. Many customers use a replacement as an opportunity to upgrade — for example, moving from an old up-and-over to an insulated sectional, or switching to a roller with automation. We'll advise on what's possible based on your opening and structure at the survey.
Will a new door fit my existing opening?
We take precise measurements during the survey to ensure the door fits perfectly. Most standard UK garage openings accommodate off-the-shelf door sizes. For non-standard or unusual openings, we can supply made-to-measure doors built to your exact dimensions.
Can I have my new door automated?
Yes — most door types we install can be automated. Sectional, roller shutter, and up-and-over (retractable) doors all work well with motorised drive systems. We can supply and install the automation as part of the same job. Side-hinged doors can also be automated on some models.
What guarantee do I get on the new door and installation?
All our replacement doors come with the manufacturer's warranty on the door itself — typically 1–5 years depending on the product and manufacturer. We also back our installation work with our own workmanship guarantee. Full details of all warranties will be confirmed when you choose your door.
